ProblemScape is an adventure game for introductory algebra. The game takes you to the strange city of Arithma in search of your lost sibling. You need help finding them, but who can help you? The inhabitants of Arithma, the Arithmen, are by nature helpful (that is, when they're not playing paintball). The mayor of Arithma can help too, but you have to find him first, which is not always easy - he goes into hiding at the first sign of trouble! It turns out the Arithmen need your help too. The only ones in Arithma who can do math, the Xperts, have all vanished! Could this be connected to the disappearance of your sibling? And how can a city function without anyone knowing math? The fun and engaging 3D adventure game includes videos/animations, worked examples, extensive practice, teach to learn activities that facilitate deep engagement and understanding, assessments for each concept, challenge games, and a narrative that promotes math efficacy and social-emotional development. The multimodal math content is deeply rooted in research, follows the "Expressions & Equations" strand of the Common Core State Standards, and is for anyone who wants to learn Algebra. There are eight chapters or levels in the game, with each chapter focusing on just one or two concepts. The game helps students get a robust understanding of variables, learn different strategies for solving one-step equations and inequalities, and explore dependent and independent variables.

GLEN Learn helps children learn to read English, with guided exercises that build pre-reading skills, and engaging stories and rhymes. It is personalized, letting children learn at their own pace, with built-in assessments and skill-strengthening exercises that adapt to the child’s progress. We have drawn on best practices in Instructed Second Language Acquisition research to design content that systematically builds the foundations of literacy: vocabulary (what words mean), phonics (how words are built from sounds), and orthography (how words are written). Children can enjoy GLEN Learn at home, preschool, or school. Teachers and caregivers can use GLEN Learn as a resource to help children get ready for school, or to catch up on skills they might be missing. The stories and rhymes included in GLEN Learn allow parents and caregivers to enjoy Story Time with their children, regardless of their own level of literacy. GLEN Learn has been designed from the ground up to prepare children for their academic journey by helping them build pre-reading skills before they enter Kindergarten. But it can also be used in elementary school. Teachers can direct students to GLEN Learn to strengthen their language skills, and can use the tools tracking learner progress to understand what kind of help a child needs. GLEN Learn can also provide the basis for designing new instruction modules: a skilled teacher can craft a rich set of reading, comprehension, and bilingual activities around it. KEY FEATURES * Lessons guiding children from “zero to reading” without assuming prior knowledge of English * Based on best practices from Instructed Second Language Acquisition (ISLA) research * Builds fundamental skills for early English literacy: meaning of words, recognition of sounds, and recognition of spelling * Personalized learning via built-in assessment and skill-strengthening modules which adapt to the learner * Includes illustrated and narrated stories in English and Spanish, and playful rhymes for children to enjoy * Closely aligned with research-based school-readiness standards such as Kindergarten Student Entrance Profile (KSEP) and Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) * Free, no ads, no in-app purchases, privacy-preserving GLEN Learn is developed by GLEN World, a nonprofit organization developing research-based learning apps to scale early English literacy.
