With N-Counter, you can create multiple counters and organize them into counter sets. To get started, create a counter set for a specific purpose, then add counters to the set. You can customize the title and color of each button, and choose whether to include a decrement button. Counter settings and values are stored permanently in a database on your device until you reset or delete the counter. You also have the option to configure a counter to record an event with each click, including the time of the event or both the time and geographic location. For counters with events, you can display a chronological list of events or a map showing event locations. N-Counter is free to use for 14 days, after which you will be prompted to purchase a one-time license. Some features may be limited during the free trial.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: N at 5.0 against nGaugeApp's 3.7. nGaugeApp's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. N sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. nGaugeApp asks for nothing beyond the download.
N holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: nGaugeApp has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
