Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Sonato at every 10 days against Modernist's every 3 months. Sonato also leads on ratings volume (281 vs 8). Modernist's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.4). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
