Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Megapolis at 5.0 against Orbital Invaders's 4.7. Orbital Invaders's advantage is ratings volume (38 vs 1) and price ($0.99 vs $3.99). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Orbital Invaders costs $0.99 and Megapolis $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Megapolis holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orbital Invaders has 38 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
