Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Aurora Hex at 1.1K against ONO's 9. Aurora Hex also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). ONO's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 84%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aurora Hex sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and ONO sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
ONO holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aurora Hex has 1.1K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 84% of Aurora Hex's written reviews are positive against 100% of ONO's.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
