About

Hazard Map

Features

Hazard Map shows what is happening on Earth, and what people nearby have marked. Wildfires, storms, volcanoes, floods, and icebergs from NASA’s Earth Observatory Natural Event Tracker appear as pins on a live map. Open one for the event type, location, and source. These are tracked natural events, not evacuation orders or official warnings. Anyone can add a place. A flooded road, a closed trail, a fire someone can see, a spot that does not feel safe. User pins sit next to NASA pins and are labeled as reports, so a neighbor’s note is never shown as a government alert. Add a short description and update it when the situation changes. Filter by fires, storms, floods, and other events. Look near your location, or move the map and see what is active somewhere else. Save a pin. Check back when a storm has passed or a report has gone quiet. Hazard Map is a picture of possible danger, built from public science and from people on the ground. It does not rank risk, and it does not tell you to leave. For emergencies, follow local authorities.
