ChannelStrip is, as its name implies, a channel strip app and AUv3 plugin. With a gate, equalizer, and compressor, ChannelStrip can provide a solid and easy-to-use channel control for your iOS mixing needs. GATE: The gate is of our own design, and very smooth. With envelope that vary from nearly instantaneous to ludicrously long, you can use it for both basic noise control and more extreme tonal shaping. EQUALIZER: Modeled on the PEV, a famous German "cartridge" equalizer, the EQ in ChannelStrip is super useful for basic tone shaping. A very smooth and forgiving general-purpose EQ. COMPRESSOR: The compressor in ChannelStrip is, at its heart, our Rough Rider model. We removed all the filtering from Rough Rider to make it cleaner, and changed the times to be more appropriate to general mixing duties. I/O: ChannelStrip has positive gain on both the input and output, to get your levels right. It also has a bit of a personality on the output stage if you drive it hard (with either or both the input and output gains). Nominally very clean, it picks up a bit of dirt with high levels just like a hardware console. Along with that, both mute (which mutes the input entirely) and bypass (which sends the inputs right to the outputs without passing the DSP stages) are available as automatable parameters. In short, ChannelStrip is a general utility mixing tool, with a bit of character and a lot of usefulness. We _strongly_ recommend you use the AUv3 version. The standalone is provided as a courtesy, but ChannelStrip is designed as an AUv3 plugin, and prefers to be hosted in a DAW or modular host like GarageBand, AUM, Cubasis, nanoStudio, etc.

Controlling the dynamics of your parts and recordings is an essential step towards a professional sounding mix. With BLEASS Compressor’s powerful performance and intuitive user interface, such pro-grade dynamics control has never been easier. BLEASS Compressor’s flexible dynamics engine makes it an ideal choice in many different situations. With compression ratios of up-to 60:1, a variable knee, and flexible attack and release stages, BLEASS Compressor can deliver a wide range of different response characteristics. The plug-in’s flexibility is further enhanced by a powerful dual filter that operates on the analysed signal, providing both low-pass and high-pass filtering. The filters work on both internal and sidechain signals, and are resonant too, making it easy to create dynamics effects that are highly frequency dependant. Despite its versatility and power, BLEASS Compressor is simple to setup and work with. Compression and filter curves are set using tactile graphical widgets, whilst you receive constant easy-to-read visual feedback about how the plugin is operating. Perhaps best of all, BLEASS Compressor is ultra-efficient, so you can include its intuitive dynamics control to any-and-every part that needs it. Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: BLEASS Compressor at 67% against ChannelStrip's 39%. BLEASS Compressor also leads on update cadence (every 19 months vs every 66 months) and ratings volume (27 vs 3). ChannelStrip's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and price ($3.99 vs $4.99). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

ChannelStrip costs $3.99 and BLEASS Compressor $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
ChannelStrip holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BLEASS Compressor has 27 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of ChannelStrip's written reviews are positive against 67% of BLEASS Compressor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
ChannelStrip ships an update every 66 months, BLEASS Compressor every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
