Learn to hold your breath for 3 minutes. Static Apnea Trainer provides breathing exercises that help your body to adapt to lower oxygen levels. Most of these exercises consist of breath holds and rests with specific lengths — apnea tables or static tables (apnea training based on repeated intervals of breath holds). They are mostly used in freediving but they can be very beneficial when practicing other sports or just for meditation and relaxation moments.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Garmin Dive™ at none against Static Apnea Trainer's 2. Garmin Dive™ also leads on ratings volume (845 vs 1) and review sentiment (52% vs 33%). Static Apnea Trainer's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Static Apnea Trainer sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Garmin Dive™ asks for nothing beyond the download.
Static Apnea Trainer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Dive™ has 845 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Garmin Dive™'s written reviews are positive against 33% of Static Apnea Trainer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
