NFC Script is the reference application to work with the Socket Mobile D600 and S550 over a Bluetooth Low Energy connection. Connect to a contactless or contact SmartCard, retrieve its ATR, exchange ISO 7816 APDUs; read/write NFC tags or 13.56 MHz “HF” labels. The app is used to explore and validate your own use cases. NFC Script implements the User Interface to: Connect the D600 or S550 as a Coupler to Read & Write RFID tags, SmartCards and NFC devices. Manages the PCSC interface (Card Connection). Send Transmit Commands (APDUs) to the Connected Card either manually or by loading a script file. View Response from Connected Card. Import Models from the Socket Mobile Library. Send Control Connects to the S550 and transmit to the Contact Slot.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: NFC Script at 5.0 against Secure Terminal's 4.5. NFC Script also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 16.6). Secure Terminal's advantage is ratings volume (62 vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
