Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: das Image Search and Explore at 4.7 against Flow's 3.7. das Image Search and Explore also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 3) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). Flow's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 91%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. das Image Search and Explore sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flow sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
das Image Search and Explore holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: das Image Search and Explore has 1.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of das Image Search and Explore's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flow's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
das Image Search and Explore ships an update every 9 days, Flow every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
