Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FitHero at 86% against Workout Planner's 0%. FitHero also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 23 months) and ratings volume (186 vs 1). Workout Planner's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Workout Planner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FitHero has 186 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of FitHero's written reviews are positive against 0% of Workout Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

FitHero ships an update every 2 weeks, Workout Planner every 23 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
