1st Principle
Read full descriptionHide full description
1st Principle is a calculus platformer built on a live graph. You run and jump along y = f(x), and the derivative decides where you can stand: where the slope gets too steep, the path breaks into gaps and hazards. Every level turns an idea from math into something you can see and play. PLAY THE MATH – Platforms follow the curve and f′(x) shapes the gaps and hazards, so a function and its derivative stay connected in your head – 59 levels: parabolas, sine and cosine, Maclaurin and Taylor series, multivariable slices, area under the curve and Riemann sums, damped oscillation, polar roses, logistic growth, Fourier and Laplace transforms, Big O growth rates, aerospace and physics stories, and boss levels such as the Mandelbrot set and the Lorenz attractor – Earn up to three stars per level, beat your best score and unlock achievements – A daily challenge with goals and a streak to keep – Hints that explain the rule behind each level GRAPHING CALCULATOR MODE Switch to a free graph workspace from the menu: type an expression, adjust it, then zoom and pan (pinch on touch screens) to explore functions without the platformer. LEARN AS YOU PLAY An in-game reader covers differentiation rules, definite and indefinite integrals and topic glossaries, with short study notes for AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, AMC 10/12, TMUA and MAT. The exam notes are unofficial study companions and are not affiliated with College Board, MAA, the University of Oxford or any test board. WHO IT'S FOR High school and university students in precalculus and calculus, anyone preparing for AP Calculus or AP Physics C, and anyone who learns better when an equation has a shape. FREE, FULL GAME AND PLUS The first 14 levels, the daily challenge and 3 hints a day are free.
