Crazy Eights is a popular card game played all over the world. In some countries it’s known under names like Mau-Mau, Switch or 101. It was even commercially released under the name of Uno. The game is played by 2 to 4 players. Five cards (or seven in two-player game) are dealt to each player. The goal of the game is to be first to get rid of all the cards. Player discards by matching rank or suit with top card of the discard pile. If player cannot play a legal card he must take a card from the stock until find a legal one. There are special cards in game. Aces change the direction. Queens force next player to skip his turn. Twos force next player to draw 2 cards unless he can play another 2. Multiple twos “stacks”. And, finally, eights give player ability to set suit for the next turn. Features: - Excellent graphics - Smooth animations - Purely offline mode - Simple customization (players amount, cards in hands / deck) - Set of tables and card covers to choose from Terms of Use: http://elvista.net/terms_of_use.html

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Crazy8 Card Game at none against Crazy Eights Elite's shown. Crazy8 Card Game also leads on ratings volume (43 vs 4). Crazy Eights Elite's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crazy8 Card Game sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Crazy Eights Elite sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Crazy Eights Elite holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crazy8 Card Game has 43 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Crazy8 Card Game's written reviews are positive against 50% of Crazy Eights Elite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Crazy8 Card Game ships an update every 3 weeks, Crazy Eights Elite weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
