Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: DRS at Free against VelociDrone's $7.99. DRS also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.2) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 37). VelociDrone's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

DRS holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DRS has 1.9K ratings behind it against 37, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of DRS's written reviews are positive against 42% of VelociDrone's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
