Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Battle Born® at every 2 months against Freedom Connect's every 12 months. Battle Born® also leads on review sentiment (11% vs 0%) and ratings volume (10 vs 2). Freedom Connect's advantage is rating (1.5 vs 1.2) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Freedom Connect holds the better App Store score, 1.5 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Battle Born® has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Freedom Connect's written reviews are positive against 11% of Battle Born®'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Freedom Connect ships an update every 12 months, Battle Born® every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
