Know what to do next. One clear action, zero maintenance, pure focus. Most to-do list apps and task managers become a second job: sorting, scheduling, and watching overdue tasks pile up in red. DoNext takes the opposite approach. You capture small, doable next steps, and the app keeps your lists fresh on its own. SHUFFLE BEATS SORTING (ONLY IN DONEXT) • A sorted list teaches your eyes to skip the bottom. DoNext reshuffles every list when you open it, so every task gets seen • Nothing rots at the end of the list, and there is nothing left to re-sort. Ever • It works like a built in review with zero effort: if a task keeps getting skipped, it is too big. Shrink it or delete it ALWAYS KNOW WHERE TO START • Small steps instead of vague goals: "search flights to Paris" gets done, "plan vacation" gets postponed • Only what is relevant now: open the list for your current context (Home, Office, Errands) and see nothing else • No project list needed. One small next step per project is enough to keep it moving NO GUILT, NO MAINTENANCE • No due date nagging, no red overdue badges. Just what you can do next • Completed tasks clear themselves overnight. No archiving, no tidying • Batch edit: select several tasks to complete, move or share at once, or fix the wording across all of them with find and replace, prefixes and suffixes • Merge lists: combine several lists into a new one, or send them back to the Inbox in a single step. Reorganize without losing anything FRICTIONLESS CAPTURE • The add field is always on screen. Type, tap plus, done • Duplicate detection: DoNext searches your lists while you type and shows similar tasks before you add a second copy • Inbox for raw thoughts. Turn them into real next actions later, back at your list • Paste any list from Notes or email and every line becomes its own task • Capture from anywhere with Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight. Say "Mind sweep with DoNext" and it lands in your Inbox FAST WHEN IT COUNTS • One tap completion • Jump to any list by typing its initials ("o" for "Online") or pressing tab • Full keyboard shortcuts and a sidebar on iPad • Long press to edit, delete or open links in a task PLAYS WELL WITH YOUR SYSTEM DoNext is a focused next action task manager: context lists and one clear step at a time. Keep your calendar for appointments and your project tool for big plans. DoNext is where the actual doing happens. Learn the full methodology in the Discover tab. Turns out, making something that feels pretty simple is pretty hard. Of course, if you give NextAction a try and it all seems kinda obvious — well, that was the point! Let me explain. ––– QUESTIONS ––– NextAction asks you questions about your tasks. (OK, they aren’t really questions, but close enough.) The questions make intuitive sense. If you’re ready to do something, *what* is it about? If you’re waiting to hear back from someone, *who* are you waiting to hear from? If you’re going to schedule something, *when* will you schedule it for? I think you’ll find those questions a huge help in getting organized. Even more? You’ll find that you can look at your tasks from any of those perspectives. Here’s why that matters. ––– PERPSECTIVES ––– When you’re thinking about the stuff you need to do, you want to be able to focus on what’s relevant and ignore everything else. But what’s relevant (and what’s not) depends on context — on *what* you’re doing, on *when* you’re doing it, on *where* you’re doing it. Planning a camping trip? Tap to focus on just your camping tasks. Out running errands? Tap to focus on just your errand-y tasks. Of course, some of your errands might be camping tasks; some of your camping tasks might be errands. Not a problem! In NextAction the same task can be both. That’s the key, the secret sauce, that lets you focus on one thing at a time. Because everything that’s relevant — relevant to your current *what*, your current *when*, your current *where* — is right there in front of you. ––– AND MORE ––– If you happen to throw your whole life at NextAction — your home stuff and your work stuff and your community stuff and more — you should know that NextAction has advanced tools that let you quickly focus on one slice of your life at a time. Most people won’t ever need them. But, hey, it’s good to know they’re there. Give NextAction a try. It’s free! P.S. Want to learn more? Go to https://www.nextaction.app/why-nextaction/. And one more thing: Total privacy. Even as the guy who developed NextAction I don’t have access to anything about you. Not your name, not your data, not a thing. Well, not unless you send me an email. Then I’ll have that. :-) Privacy: https://www.nextaction.app/privacy/ Terms: https://www.nextaction.app/terms/
