Have you ever wanted to read some book, but it felt like it needed too much time and was simply boring? FLOOX will make reading much faster and much more fun (once you get a hang of it ;) It is based on RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) method, which has been scientifically proven to increase the reading speed by 33% while retaining the same comprehension level (G. Öquist, M. Goldstein). While most speed-reading techniques require a lot of self-discipline to keep a high speed, FLOOX keeps the speed you choose, so that you can relax and concentrate on the meaning. Reading becomes like watching a movie, while remaining a great exercise for your brain. Since words on the screen are always moving and grabbing your attention, concentrating on reading is also much easier than for a static text, where your mind tends to wonder away because there is no action. The basis of any speed reading is to reduce the vocalization: understand the words without pronouncing them with your internal voice; and FLOOX helps you achieve this. So your regular reading will also improve after using FLOOX! Besides, since you only need to see one word a time, you can use a much larger font and hold the device farther away, which is less tiring on your eyes and saves your vision. Remember: this method requires a skill. You can truly appreciate it only after practicing it for a couple of weeks. + Supports EPUB, MOBI, FB2, PDF, TXT and HTML files, Copy-Paste and Sharing. There are many websites to convert other formats to EPUB or FB2. + When pasting or sharing links, they are loaded automatically, so you can read the news or Wikipedia using FLOOX + See the remaining time to finish the book and the estimated speed (words per minute) + Easily increase/decrease speed or fine-tune all delays to make it behave exactly as you want + See the words surrounding the current words, to roughly understand the context and look ahead or behind when needed + Set colors you like + Right-to-Left support + Chinese and Japanese languages support You can purchase a 1-year AD-FREE subscription! Find the on-screen reading settings that suit you. For dyslexic and ADHD readers, children and adults alike — and for anyone who tires quickly on screen. This app is a settings lab: experiment with fonts (including OpenDyslexic), text size, letter and line spacing, and colors on a sample text — and see the result instantly. IMPORTANT — This app is not a screening or diagnostic tool. Dyslexia is diagnosed by a qualified professional (speech-language pathologist). This app only helps you explore display preferences. WHY SPACING MATTERS In a controlled study published in PNAS (Zorzi et al., 2012), increasing the space between letters immediately improved reading accuracy in children with dyslexia — with no training. Effects vary from reader to reader, which is exactly why testing your own settings matters. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Try different fonts and compare them on the same text - Adjust text size, letter spacing and line spacing - Test text and background colors for your visual comfort - Send feedback and suggest new settings Once you know what works for you, apply your preferences in our other apps (Scandys, Navidys, School tool) or in your device's accessibility settings.
