AR VR Molecules Editor allows one to build and manipulate 3D molecules models of organic and inorganic compounds in a smartphone VR headset. This is a valuable tool for chemistry students for learning about molecular bonding with the aid of VR visualization. The app is designed for high school or college students taking chemistry courses. All molecules are essentially 3D objects and one very efficient way to learn more and deeper about atoms and bonds is by VR and AR. Augmented reality helps to make connections from the abstract to the real world. Are you looking for an app that allows students to construct molecules in VR and AR? AR VR Molecules Editor is a very effective app for this purpose as it allows organic and inorganic molecular structures to be built with single, double and triple bonds, as well as cyclic compounds. The molecules can be visualized in 3D using stick, ball and stick and space-filling (CPK) models. FEATURES: • Building molecule models of any organic or inorganic compound using most of periodic table elements in VR. • Support of single, double and triple bonds. • Building molecule models of cyclic compounds. • Visualization of Wireframe style, Stick style, Ball and Stick, Spacefill (CPK) models. • Augmented reality interface (AR) for visualizing molecular structures. Play "AR VR Molecules Editor" – it’s fun, entertaining and educational!

MoleculeGo is a location based app that gamifies the process of learning about molecular biology. In this game, the player collects amino acids, ATP, and DNA sequences, the molecular building blocks used to synthesize proteins. By capturing DNA sequences, the player discovers genes that encode for proteins. These genes provide the user with the necessary "recipe" to synthesize proteins in their own lab, using amino acids and ATP. These proteins can then be combined to construct even larger protein complexes. As the player progresses in the game, new molecules become available and information will become available about each molecule's basic function and how its structure is associated with its molecular role. Players can visit hotspots (schools, parks, hospitals, universities, etc.) to accelerate the discovery of new molecules. While molecules are discovered, players can learn how they are involved in disease, biomedical applications, research, and their function in the cell.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: AR VR Molecules Editor Lite at 100% against MoleculeGo's 50%. AR VR Molecules Editor Lite also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). MoleculeGo's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. AR VR Molecules Editor Lite sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. MoleculeGo asks for nothing beyond the download.
MoleculeGo holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 24 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of AR VR Molecules Editor Lite's written reviews are positive against 50% of MoleculeGo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
