Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: WeatherSat at 100% against Whethr's 0%. WeatherSat also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (11 vs 1). Whethr's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Whethr holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WeatherSat has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Whethr's written reviews are positive against 100% of WeatherSat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Whethr ships an update every 2 months, WeatherSat every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
