Kuarki - Traveller between wor(l)ds is a free interactive app for multilingual children and other foreign language learners aged 10 and over. Kuarki and his friends take your child on a journey not only through words but also through different worlds as the title of the app suggests. With the help of this app, children can expand their vocabulary and practice their reading and writing skills. The aim of the app is to contribute to closing the gap between school and home language and to provide the readers with new knowledge in an interesting and fun way. Children who want to learn a foreign language and improve their reading skills can also be supported by using the app. The fictional protagonist Kuarki leads through the different worlds (human being, earth, universe & life ) and dedicates himself to questions like "What is in the centre of the earth?" or "Why does practice make the master?". For each question he finds someone, whether an egg cell or Isaac Newton, who can answer the questions. The questions are based on frequently asked questions by children aged 10 and over. The app can combine the following languages: German, English, Russian, Turkish, Lithuanian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Croatian, Hungarian and Romanian. This results in a wide range of possible combinations to close the gap between home and school language. The appealing illustrations and contents of the app are of course not only suitable for multilingual children, but also interesting for adults who want to refresh their knowledge of foreign languages and natural sciences. Kuarki - Traveller between wor(l)ds is an app supported by Erasmus+ (EU) and is therefore safe for children and free of advertising, so the app can be used with a clear conscience at school or at home. Our content has been developed by international education experts and meets the highest educational standards in Europe.
English Numbers Practice

Even if you don't need to learn a foreign language, there are probably some situations where you need to listen to numbers in English. The familiar number 1,2,3,4 may seem easy when you write it down, but it's surprisingly difficult when you listen to it. Even if you have words like one, two, three in your head, they are incorporated into unfamiliar words in the actual situation, so even if you know them in your head, they don't register easily in your ears. In this app, you will practice listening to English numbers read out by an artificial voice and inputting them to get used to listening. I also wanted to practice using this app, so I placed something like a mascot with a round face on the screen. This round face is not advanced AI or other advanced technology, but is simply a circle with eyes and a mouth drawn inside it, but it creates a much more relaxed atmosphere than practicing while looking at a blank screen. Also, the purpose is not to give correct or incorrect answers like when studying for a exam, but to simply practice over and over again and get used to listening, so even when you make a mistake, the round face mascot encourage you by saying things like βDon't worry!β. You start with a single digit number, but you can freely press "β" and "β" to increase or decrease the number of digits to adjust the difficulty level. You can practice listening to English numbers from 1 to 9 digits. I can listen to around 3 digits without making mistakes, but when it comes to 4 digits, I have to listen to it over and over again to be able to write it down correctly. I think you can also use it as a brain training exercise. β

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Kuarki at none against English Numbers Practice's shown. Kuarki also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). English Numbers Practice's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
