Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Cadence at Free against Workout Map's $1.99. Cadence also leads on ratings volume (22 vs 4) and review sentiment (62% vs 54%). Workout Map's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.5) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On ads there is nothing between them.

Cadence is free to download; Workout Map costs $1.99 up front. Cadence sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Workout Map asks for nothing beyond the download.
Workout Map holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cadence has 22 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Cadence's written reviews are positive against 54% of Workout Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cadence ships an update fortnightly, Workout Map weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
