Climate changes one of the biggest challenges that threat our planet. But HOW DOES WASTE CONTRIBUTE TO CLIMATE CHANGE? Municipal solid waste including everyday waste from households, schools and shops, contains biodegradable organic matter such as kitchen waste, garden waste, and paper. Biodegradation of these materials generates a mixture of carbon dioxide and methane. If air is present during waste biodegradation, more carbon dioxide is produced, whereas in the absence of air, anaerobic digestion takes place. This is a biological process that produces methane from organic materials. This is important as methane is a much more potent greenhouse gas (GHG) than carbon dioxide, and minimizing its release slows increasing global warming. Do you ever ask yourself where is my waste going? Most of the waste is going to the landfill where is just dump it How Can I contribute to Save the Planet? You can do that by improve the recycling and increase the diversion rate of the waste from landfill. Segregate your waste at home will increase the rate of recovery of the recyclables and decrease the waste quantity that going to the landfill which will leads to reduce in carbon dioxide as well as reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing energy consumption. Using recycled materials to make new products reduces the need for virgin materials. This avoids greenhouse gas emissions that would result from extracting or mining virgin materials. In addition, manufacturing products from recycled materials typically requires less energy than making products from virgin materials. We are proud to introduce the iRecycle, the pioneer mobile application in the region that encourage people to source segregate their waste at home thru rewarding system. With iRecycle your waste will not be an issue any more, you can turn it into value. Save the Environment and Reward Yourself. iRecycle Accept: Plastic, Paper, E-Waste and ferrous-nonferrous
