Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: AKASO GO at 4.5 against Vacos Smart's 4.0. AKASO GO also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 80) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Vacos Smart's advantage is review sentiment (42% vs 29%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
AKASO GO holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AKASO GO has 15K ratings behind it against 80, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of AKASO GO's written reviews are positive against 42% of Vacos Smart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
AKASO GO ships an update monthly, Vacos Smart every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
