CHAT vs Audio Adventure

CHAT-E is an interactive interview tool designed to facilitate early childhood research using engaging, puppet-guided interactions. Developed in collaboration with Northwestern University and Head Start programs, CHAT-E helps researchers collect structured responses from young children in a playful and standardized way. Built with research usability in mind, CHAT-E improves upon traditional interview methods by reducing training overhead, enhancing data consistency, and promoting child engagement through animated puppet hosts. The platform is optimized for field studies in developmental psychology, language acquisition, and educational interventions.

With our new app "Audio Adventure" children five years and older can easily and intuitively produce their own radio dramas. Children can dream up the most imaginative and beautiful stories themselves! We want to give them the opportunity to make these stories into little radio drama adventures that they can edit and listen to alone or with their friends. Their own voice, sounds or music can be recorded with a microphone and they can browse through the sound library looking for suitable sounds. There are different soundtracks that are placed over each other and can be shifted. The individual sound sequences can be cut and moved. Operation is very simple and intuitive. What sounds are around us? What does a rain storm sound like? And: how do sounds change when I record them? This is a playful way to promote speech and listening skills – an important precondition for learning speaking, reading and writing. DOING SOMETHING NICE FOR OTHERS Your own radio plays and podcasts can be easily stored and sent to grandma and grandpa or friends. INCLUDED IN THE NEXT UPDATE: fading in an out of soundtracks and fun effects for the voice recordings.
