Know your hand. Build your instinct. How strong is your starting hand? How does its equity change against more opponents? Which hands belong in an opening range? Pocket Hands helps you build a foundation in Texas Hold’em through short practice sessions and interactive reference charts. Whether you’re learning the basics or refreshing your knowledge, turn a few spare minutes into focused preflop practice. THREE WAYS TO TRAIN Hand Strength Explore all 169 starting-hand classes and study their approximate equity against 1–9 opponents holding random hands. Choose a fixed opponent count or vary it between questions, then identify the correct equity band. Tap any hand in the reference matrix to inspect its value. Match-Ups Learn to recognize common preflop match-ups, from close contests to dominated hands. Study 13 reference examples and practice identifying the approximate equity split between two hands. Opening Basics Study 13 sample opening charts for 6-max and 9-max tables. Choose a position or practice across different positions, then decide whether a hand belongs in the chart’s raising range when the action folds to you. SHORT SESSIONS. CLEAR FEEDBACK. Each session contains 10 questions. Choose an answer, see the correct result and read a short explanation before moving on at your own pace. At the end, check your score and revisit the questions you missed. Reviewing mistakes helps reinforce what you’ve learned without changing your original score. Your total answers and accuracy are saved separately for each training topic, so you can return for another session and keep building your knowledge. A REFERENCE GUIDE IN YOUR POCKET Switch from practice to study whenever you need a refresher. Explore color-coded hand matrices, compare common match-ups and review opening charts without carrying printed tables or spreadsheets. MADE FOR FOCUSED PRACTICE • Three training topics with built-in reference material. • All 169 starting-hand classes. • Equity tables against 1–9 random opponents. • Sample opening charts for 6-max and 9-max. • Ten-question sessions with feedback and mistake review. • Progress saved on your device. • Training and reference guides available offline. • Designed for iPhone and iPad. • No account required. YOUR PRACTICE STAYS LOCAL Pocket Hands stores training totals on your device and does not send them to the developer. It does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Progress does not sync between devices. The app includes an optional introduction and links to ProRangeLab, another poker study app from the same developer. UNDERSTAND THE NUMBERS Equity figures are rounded learning references. Hand Strength uses random opposing hands, while Match-Ups illustrates common patterns. These are not live calculations against a specific player’s range. Opening charts are memorization examples, not a universal strategy. Stack depth, raise sizing, rake, antes and opponents can change the appropriate decision. Pocket Hands is a study tool. It does not offer real-money gambling, connect to poker tables or provide real-time gameplay assistance. Part of Poker Tools Lab.
