Hans im Glück

Discover one of the Brothers Grimm's most beloved and philosophically rich fairy tales — Hans im Glück. Hans leaves his master's service with a lump of gold, then cheerfully trades it away piece by piece on his journey home, each swap leaving him with less and less, yet somehow more and more content. Is Hans foolish, or is he the wisest man in the story? This bilingual app presents the full Grimm text in German alongside a clear English translation, letting you absorb authentic vocabulary and sentence structure through a story that has delighted readers for two centuries. Perfect for A2-B2 learners, Hans im Glück introduces key German structures — conditional clauses, reported speech, and past tense narrative — in an engaging, naturally flowing context.
