About

Canopy Sieve

Features

Canopy Sieve gives Safari four dedicated content-blocking extensions that work together to remove ads, block trackers, stop malware, and hide cookie notices, without slowing down your browser or draining your battery. WHAT GETS BLOCKED • Ads, banner ads, video pre-rolls, sponsored posts, and ad scripts from thousands of known ad networks • Trackers & Analytics, third-party tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, and analytics beacons that follow you across the web • Malware & Phishing, known malicious domains, phishing pages, and harmful redirects • Annoyances, cookie consent popups, social media share widgets, and newsletter nag screens HOW IT WORKS Canopy Sieve uses Safari's built-in Content Blocker API. Your browsing never passes through a VPN or proxy, blocking happens entirely on your device, so your data stays private and your connection stays fast. FOUR EXTENSIONS, MAXIMUM COVERAGE Safari limits each content blocker to 150,000 rules. Canopy Sieve uses four coordinated extensions to deliver over 400,000 blocking rules, far more than any single-extension blocker can offer. ALLOWLIST Added a site that doesn't work? Tap Allowlist and enter the root domain (e.g. example.com) to let it through. Changes apply instantly without re-downloading anything. AUTOMATIC UPDATES Blocklists refresh silently in the background so you're always protected against the latest ad networks and trackers, no action needed. PRIVACY FIRST Canopy Sieve contains no analytics, no crash reporting, and no account system. The only network requests it makes are to download blocklist updates from its own open-source list server. SUPPORT THE PROJECT Canopy Sieve is free. If it saves you from ads every day, consider leaving a tip from inside the app, it directly supports continued development and list maintenance.
