Sheet Bending Calculator is a professional engineering and fabrication tool for calculating bend allowance, bend deduction, and flat pattern plate size for sheet metal bending applications. Designed for sheet metal fabricators, press brake operators, mechanical engineers, workshop technicians, and manufacturing professionals, the app helps determine accurate flat dimensions before bending and forming. By simplifying bend calculations and eliminating repetitive manual trigonometry and spreadsheets, Sheet Bending Calculator helps reduce material waste, minimize fabrication errors, and improve bending accuracy. Available Calculations • Bend Allowance (BA) • Bend Deduction (BD) • Flat Pattern Plate Size Bend Allowance Calculator Calculate bend allowance using the required bending parameters: • Bend Angle • Inside Bend Radius • K-Factor • Material Thickness The calculated bend allowance can be used to determine the developed length required before bending. Bend Deduction Calculator Calculate bend deduction for sheet metal fabrication and use the result when determining the correct flat pattern dimensions before cutting and forming. Flat Pattern Plate Size Determine the required flat plate or sheet size before bending. This helps fabricators prepare material accurately and reduce: • Material Waste • Cutting Errors • Trial and Error • Incorrect Measurements • Fabrication Rework K-Factor Based Calculation The calculator uses K-Factor as an important input for determining bend allowance and developed sheet length. This allows users to adjust calculations according to their selected bending conditions and fabrication requirements. Features • Sheet metal bend calculations • Bend allowance calculation • Bend deduction calculation • Flat pattern development • K-Factor support • Inside bend radius input • Bend angle calculation • Material thickness input • Press brake fabrication support • Metric and Imperial units • Dimensions in mm or inches • Fractional Imperial input support • Automatic unit conversion • Fast calculation results • Simple professional interface • No internet connection required Applications Sheet Bending Calculator is useful for: • Sheet Metal Fabrication • Press Brake Operations • HVAC Duct Fabrication • Enclosure Manufacturing • Electrical Panel Fabrication • Bracket Manufacturing • Equipment Fabrication • Industrial Sheet Metal Work • Mechanical Component Manufacturing • Workshop Production Designed For • Sheet Metal Fabricators • Press Brake Operators • Fabrication Engineers • Mechanical Engineers • Production Engineers • Design Engineers • Workshop Technicians • Manufacturing Professionals • Fabrication Supervisors • Engineering Students Sheet Bending Calculator helps you determine the correct developed sheet size before bending, allowing you to cut material accurately and achieve the required finished dimensions with less trial and error. Whether you are fabricating brackets, panels, enclosures, ducts, equipment components, or custom sheet metal parts, the app provides a convenient tool for bend allowance, bend deduction, and flat pattern calculations.

About

Bend deduction and Flat length

This app calculates the bend deduction for sheet metal, determining the initial flat length needed for a finished part. It simplifies the process by eliminating trial and error for press brake operators, designers, and laser cutter operators, saving time and material.

Highlights

One of the most common problems in bending is the calculation of bend deduction. Determining the size of the piece to be cut starting from the finished measurements is often done by trial and error, requiring a lot of additional work not only for the press brake operator but also for the designer and the laser cutter operator. Time and material are wasted on various tests before getting a reliable value. With this app, you quickly get the sheet metal bend deduction, and therefore the sheet metal blank initial flat length, from the finished part measurements. You only have to insert interior angle, flange lengths, K factor, inside radius, and material thickness.
