Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Push Ups Challenge at 100% against CounterUps's 57%. Push Ups Challenge also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 9) and ads (none vs shown). CounterUps's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 1.0) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

CounterUps holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CounterUps has 31 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of CounterUps's written reviews are positive against 100% of Push Ups Challenge's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

CounterUps ships an update weekly, Push Ups Challenge every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
