Countdowns will help you count down the time until the event you are waiting for, whether it's a date or a party or a new Apple presentation! Want to know how much time is left until the event? No problem! Countdowns is not just a timer app. It's designed to let you keep track of how much time is left before your event. Count hours from the last sweet you ate or minutes until you meet your loved one - if something has happened in the past or will happen in the future, Countdowns will keep track of the time for you. Countdowns can keep your timers running no matter where you are. You can cancel your Countdowns subscription at any time, but it will renew automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before your next due date.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Countdowns at 4.7 against Eventime's 4.4. Countdowns also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (14.7 vs 26.0). Eventime's advantage is ratings volume (266 vs 47). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Eventime sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Countdowns sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Countdowns holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Eventime has 266 ratings behind it against 47, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 46% of Eventime's written reviews are positive against 50% of Countdowns's.
Eventime ships an update every 5 weeks, Countdowns every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
