Wormdrop Battleground puts you against opponents run by real AI. Instead of scripted bots, large language models control the enemy worms: they choose weapons, plan attacks, trash-talk, and adapt to how you play. On eligible devices, Apple's on-device Foundation Models can run those opponents entirely on your iPad. Drop into a compact island arena, grab crates, arc rockets across destructible terrain, dodge mines, and try to be the last worm standing. Choose solo battle royale, classic turns, or an AI duo setup where your teammate and rivals think through every match. Features: Opponents controlled by real language models that plan, adapt, and banter instead of following a fixed script. Optional on-device AI on eligible devices, using Apple's Foundation Models framework. Fast 3D worm battles with destructible terrain and water hazards. iPad-friendly touch controls for movement, aiming, weapon choice, jumping, and firing. Classic artillery weapons including rockets, grenades, mines, shotguns, jetpacks, ropes, and stranger surprises. AI-driven bot personalities, tactical choices, match banter, and recap flavor. No account is required for local play.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Wormdrop Battleground at 5.0 against Shark Attack's 4.5. Wormdrop Battleground also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 15) and ads (none vs shown). Shark Attack's advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shark Attack sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Wormdrop Battleground asks for nothing beyond the download.
Wormdrop Battleground holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shark Attack has 10K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
