Each card gives you a word to describe and a list of forbidden words you cannot use as clues. NO INTERNET. NO ADS. All cards are available offline once the game is downloaded. Play at home, at a party, on a trip, or anywhere with a bad connection. And there are no ads interrupting your rounds. SET UP THE GAME YOUR WAY Adjust the game to suit your group. You can choose: • round time • target score • number of skips • team names • team colors Want an extra challenge? Add your own house rules, such as no gestures or no similar words. SIMPLE SWIPE CONTROLS No need to hunt for buttons in the middle of a round. Swipe right when your team guesses correctly. Swipe left when something goes wrong. Swipe down to skip a card. PLAY IN 6 LANGUAGES Guess It includes almost 4,000 Polish cards, almost 2,000 German, almost 1,600 Spanish and 1,300+ each in English, Italian and Portuguese. HOW TO PLAY Split into two or more teams. During each round, one player describes the main word shown on the screen. The catch is that they cannot say any of the forbidden words listed underneath it. Their team tries to guess as many words as possible before time runs out. Then pass the phone to the next team. The first team to reach the target score wins. Guess It is made for parties, family game nights, trips and casual get-togethers with friends. One phone, a few people, and you're ready to play.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Guess It at 80% against Connect Words's 40%. Guess It also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Connect Words's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (52K vs 6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Connect Words holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Connect Words has 52K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Guess It's written reviews are positive against 40% of Connect Words's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Guess It ships an update every 2 months, Connect Words every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
