Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: kingbit at every 4 days against OptiFlight's every 6 weeks. OptiFlight's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 10) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OptiFlight sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and kingbit sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for OptiFlight against 4.7 for kingbit. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OptiFlight has 1.3K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of OptiFlight's written reviews are positive against 88% of kingbit's.
OptiFlight ships an update every 6 weeks, kingbit every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
