About

SteadyBeat

Features

SteadyBeat is a timing coach for drummers. Play along with the metronome on a practice pad or tabletop; your phone listens to every stroke and tells you on the spot whether it was early, on, or late. OPEN AND PLAY Pick a rudiment, set the tempo and the click on one screen, and start. Your last setup is remembered. EARLY, ON OR LATE — LIVE Huge live verdicts and an early/late meter you can read from a music stand. The background follows each bar's overall feel, so you notice rushing or dragging out of the corner of your eye. PUSH YOUR LIMIT, STEP BY STEP Every rudiment has its own tempo ladder. Two qualifying runs (an A grade, accurate and steady) at your current limit unlock the next step, 4 BPM faster. A breakthrough curve tracks the climb. COLLECT RHYTHM BADGES First A, a 7-day streak, the 100 BPM Club, Human Metronome… 15 badges mark your progress. SERIOUS MEASUREMENT The high-pitched click and the microphone listen on separate frequency bands, so even with the click on the speaker every stroke is heard. The count-in calibrates your phone's audio delay automatically, and timing is measured to the millisecond. PRIVACY Sound is analyzed live on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, no personal data is collected, and there are no ads. FREE AND FULL VERSION The metronome, live feedback, the tempo ladder up to 100 BPM and rhythm badges are free. The Full Version is a one-time purchase: the ladder opens all the way to 240 BPM, plus all 8 rudiments (triple strokes, five stroke rolls, paradiddles, double paradiddles and more) with free combinations, saved recordings and your full progress history. Tips: put the phone an arm's length from the pad, sit out the count-in bar, and use headphones for the most precise timing.
