Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Pocket Note at 4.3 against LinHand's 3.0. Pocket Note also leads on ratings volume (14 vs 2). LinHand's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 33%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket Note sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and LinHand sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Pocket Note holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pocket Note has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Pocket Note's written reviews are positive against 50% of LinHand's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
