Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Planner for AC at every 2 weeks against Dnd dice roller's every 6 months. Planner for AC also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 2) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Dnd dice roller's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 81%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Planner for AC sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Dnd dice roller sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Planner for AC holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Planner for AC has 1.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Planner for AC's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dnd dice roller's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Planner for AC ships an update every 2 weeks, Dnd dice roller every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
