Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Scriber at 5.0 against ServerCat's 4.6. Scriber also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 5 days) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). ServerCat's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 1) and chart position (#61 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ServerCat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per year and Scriber sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Scriber holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ServerCat has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
ServerCat ships an update every 5 days, Scriber daily. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
