Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: ServerCat at every 5 days against ID Assistant's every 2 months. ServerCat also leads on ratings volume (996 vs 7) and chart position (#94 vs unranked). ID Assistant's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 77%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ServerCat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per year and ID Assistant sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
ID Assistant holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ServerCat has 996 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of ServerCat's written reviews are positive against 100% of ID Assistant's.
ServerCat ships an update every 5 days, ID Assistant every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 12, 2026 respectively.
