Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: ServerCat at every 5 days against SSL Time's every 3 months. ServerCat also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 1) and chart position (#48 vs #195). SSL Time's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. ServerCat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per year and SSL Time sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
SSL Time holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ServerCat has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
ServerCat ships an update every 5 days, SSL Time every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
