The Cut-up technique is a creativity process originally popularized by the DADAists. It involves cutting up existing text sources and rearranging them to inspire new ideas. The method was later used by William S. Burroughs, David Bowie, and Radiohead among others. Instructions: •) Paste in any copied text such as a poem, lyrics, a journal or diary entry-- even *news articles(although these may require more care in formatting into separate lines). Paste in any text you want •) Any text that is separated by a "return" will be counted as a new line •) You can use the "return" on the iOS keyboard to simulate cutting the text anywhere you want. Many source materials may already automatically have lines separated when you paste them in, but it could be fun to cut up lines even further, perhaps in-half. •) Feel free to type in extra lines on the fly or edit existing lines using the keyboard •) Copying and pasting from different sources is a good way to get interesting blends •) When you are satisfied with your formatting, clicking on "Automatic" will cut the text into lines and send them to the editing board •) You can also use iOS' built-in copy and paste to manually send a single line, words, or word to the editing board. •) To begin rearranging the lines, click on the "Edit" button •) Rearranging can be done manually by clicking on a line and dragging it, or automatically by clicking "shuffle". You can press shuffle as many times as you wish •) You can go back to the input screen and add more content at any time •) Export your rearranged lines via the "Share" button. •) Press "Clear" to start over completely * REMEMBER TO ABIDE BY ANY LICENSING AND ATTRIBUTION REQUIREMENTS IF YOU USE THIRD PARTY SOURCES """ App Icons were made by https://www.flaticon.com/authors/flat-icons Gutenberg.org is used for the "random" feature per their permission to only use human interaction and only for educational use.

About

Tempo Spoken Timer

Features

Tempo is a stopwatch, a timer and an alarm that tell you the time out loud. Start something, put the phone down, and a voice tells you how long you have been going — every minute, every five, at the quarter marks, or whenever you decide. No looking at a screen, no working out the arithmetic, no realising an hour later that it was an hour. It is built for anyone who loses track of time while they are concentrating, and for the days when a silent number on a screen is not enough to break through. WHAT IT DOES • Stopwatch — counts up, and says the elapsed time at your interval. • Timer — counts down to a length you set, tells you when you reach it, and keeps going into overrun instead of just stopping. • Alarm — a single spoken callout at a time you choose. • Up to four at once. Name them, and it says the name so you know which one just spoke. IT KEEPS TALKING Lock the phone, switch apps, put it in your pocket. Tempo carries on announcing. Music ducks for each announcement and comes straight back rather than stopping. ON YOUR WRIST The Apple Watch app runs the same sessions. Start on either device and both stay in step — one speaks, both tap. Drop your wrist and the haptics keep coming. ON THE HOME SCREEN A widget shows what is running and counts on its own. Start, pause and stop from it without opening the app, and when nothing is running it offers your recent sessions as one-tap starts. Live Activities put the same thing on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. THE WORDING Every line is written to be told the time, not told off. "Ten minutes on invoices." Never "you should have finished by now." The phrasing rotates so it does not become wallpaper you stop hearing. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Tempo has no account, no sign-in and no network code at all. Nothing you type or run leaves your devices. There is nothing to opt out of.
