Created for Georgia Power’s Learning Power program, this collection of games for PreK to high school students delivers fun, interactive learning on energy efficiency. — GAMES IN THIS APP — Pre K - 2nd Grade “Turn Out The Lights” Turn off all the lights in this whack-a-mole game focusing on energy efficiency. 3rd Grade “Ice Cream Party” Build a treehouse with the fundamentals of heat transfer in mind to help your friends keep their ice cream from melting. 4th Grade “Bo’s Bet Problems” Use simple machines to create complex Rube Goldberg machines. 5th Grade “Circuits” Investigate how insulators and conductors work in a circuit. Experiment with Goldibot and be able to name each part of a circuit. 6th Grade “Solar Cell Power” Explore and interact with moving electrons to convert solar energy into electrical energy within a solar cell. 8th Grade “Electricity with Electrons” Take a turn at being the energy that turns the rotor in a fast-paced interactive game. High School Economics “Donut Shop” Manage a donut shop to keep things running efficiently and on time. High School Environmental Studies “Electri-City” Solve intricate puzzles by powering multiple cities. Learning Power, Georgia Power's signature education program, electrifies classrooms with engaging lessons on energy and energy efficiency. Learning Power challenges students to think about energy and their environment in new ways while increasing awareness of careers in the energy industry. Since kicking off in 2011, Learning Power has reached over 750,000 students across the state of Georgia. Aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence in science and math, interactive labs and creative class activities amp up STEM learning and career exploration. Education Coordinators deliver hands-on, STEM-based energy and energy efficiency lessons at all grade levels, Pre-K through high school. The Learning Power program strives to contribute to student’s academic achievement, educate students on energy efficiency in school and at home, and build awareness around careers in the energy industry. This partnership with Georgia educators delivers engaging personal connections with science and math. The programs, lesson plans, and activities are provided at no cost to teachers or schools.
