Augmented reality takes energy to the next level! Created for Georgia Power’s Learning Power program, these AR games take high school students on a virtual journey through a smart power grid and a nuclear power plant These 3D models help students understand electrical power delivery and nuclear power plant generation. — GAMES IN THIS APP — AR Power Grid Immerse and engage in an interactive 3D model that illustrates the process by which electricity is transmitted and distributed from a power plant into the homes, businesses, and factories of customers. AR Nuclear Immerse and engage in an interactive 3D model of a nuclear power plant that illustrates the process of creating electricity. Visualize the invisible elements moving inside the power plant: the temperature of water, air flow, protons and electrons, etc. Learning Power, Georgia Power's signature education program, electrifies classrooms with engaging lessons on energy and energy efficiency. Learning Power challenges students to think about energy and their environment in new ways while increasing awareness of careers in the energy industry. Since kicking off in 2011, Learning Power has reached over 750,000 students across the state of Georgia. Aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence in science and math, interactive labs and creative class activities amp up STEM learning and career exploration. Education Coordinators deliver hands-on, STEM-based energy and energy efficiency lessons at all grade levels, Pre-K through high school. The Learning Power program strives to contribute to student’s academic achievement, educate students on energy efficiency in school and at home, and build awareness around careers in the energy industry. This partnership with Georgia educators delivers engaging personal connections with science and math. The programs, lesson plans, and activities are provided at no cost to teachers or schools.
