Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: TG Connect at Free against TeleGuard's $3.99. TG Connect also leads on rating (3.7 vs 3.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 10). TeleGuard's advantage is chart position (#3 vs unranked) and ratings volume (245 vs 47). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

TG Connect holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TeleGuard has 245 ratings behind it against 47, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of TeleGuard's written reviews are positive against 43% of TG Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

TeleGuard ships an update every 5 weeks, TG Connect every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
