To register your driving licence in the app, you must have: • a valid Danish driving licence • a valid passport or ID card • a MitID with CPR number • an iPhone 7 or newer With the driving licence app, you always carry your driving licence with you. The app is a voluntary supplement to your plastic driving licence and functions as a valid driving licence in Denmark. This means that you can leave your plastic driving licence at home, as long as you can show your driving licence app instead. However, do not throw away your plastic driving licence. You will still need it when travelling and driving abroad . With the app, you can: • Prove that you have a driving licence when driving in Denmark • Show your driving licence on your mobile phone in places where you would normally use your driving licence, for instance as ID. The driving licence app has been developed by the Danish Agency for Digital Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, the Danish National Police, the Ministry of Transport and the Danish Road Traffic Authority.
