Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Smith Auctions Live at 4.8 against Thomaston Live's 4.0. Smith Auctions Live also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Thomaston Live's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 16 months) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
