Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: OT.gr at 5.0 against Newsit's 3.7. OT.gr also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Newsit's advantage is update cadence (every 4 months vs every 46 months) and review sentiment (25% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
OT.gr holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Newsit's written reviews are positive against 0% of OT.gr's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Newsit ships an update every 4 months, OT.gr every 46 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
