Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Simple Server at 4.3 against Code App's 4.0. Simple Server also leads on price ($3.99 vs $6.99). Code App's advantage is ratings volume (301 vs 11) and chart position (#6 vs #44). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Simple Server holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0.
