Verdict
Gurmit and Gastronomium both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 80% of Gastronomium's written reviews are positive against 44% of Gurmit's. Gastronomium also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). Gurmit's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.
