Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: App Update Access at 100% against Affirmations & Quote Widget's 55%. App Update Access also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Affirmations & Quote Widget's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (322 vs 16). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Affirmations & Quote Widget sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. App Update Access asks for nothing beyond the download.
Affirmations & Quote Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Affirmations & Quote Widget has 322 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Affirmations & Quote Widget's written reviews are positive against 100% of App Update Access's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Affirmations & Quote Widget ships an update every 6 weeks, App Update Access every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
