Own-it: Run the City. Own the Map. Own-it turns every run and ride into a game played on a real 3D map of your city. The idea is simple. Run or ride a loop, and the ground inside that loop becomes your territory. The bigger and smarter your routes, the more of the map you hold. Claim your territory Every loop you complete claims real ground. Other players are out there doing the same, so the map never stands still. Take a new route to win new ground, or close a loop over a rival's zone to take the ground inside it. Track every run properly Pause and resume any run, perfect for intervals and red lights. Auto-pause stops the clock when you stop, and you can turn it off, or limit it to runs or rides, in Settings. See your pace live as you run, and get moving time, elapsed time and hill-adjusted pace for every run. Plan your route (Pro) Draw a route on the map, snapped to real roads and paths, for a run, a walk or a ride. See the distance, time and elevation before you go, then run along it. Share your routes with other runners, or run theirs. Your wrist, your run The Apple Watch app lets you start a run from your wrist. Follow your planned route with distance left and a buzz if you go off course. Pause from your watch or your phone and both stay in sync. Works with watchOS 10 and later. Medals and replays Earn medals for your fastest 1K, 5K, 10K and half marathon, your longest run, your biggest climb and more. Watch any run back as a 3D replay. Run and ride with a crew Form a crew with friends and take over neighbourhoods together. Join challenges, some with prizes from our partners, play private rooms head-to-head, and climb the ranks. Running or cycling, your choice Own-it detects whether you are running or riding. Cyclists earn 1.5x zone points and get detailed speed stats, and can join pace groups. Just want a clean track? Switch to Free Run for distance, time, pace and your route with no game attached. A feed built around the game Share your runs and rides with photos and captions, see what other players are up to, and cheer them on. It's a good way to find people near you. Built for the World Own-it Pro Unlock the route builder, private rooms, pace groups, run trends and premium map styles with Own-it Pro. We built Own-it to give your runs a reason to go further. The city is the game. Take it. This app integrates with Apple Health (HealthKit) to show your heart rate and activity from Apple Watch during your runs. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Own at 5.0 against Guns Master's 4.1. Own also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). Guns Master's advantage is ratings volume (3.5K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guns Master sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Own sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Own holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guns Master has 3.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Guns Master ships an update every 2 months, Own every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
